A Milestone Work Anniversary to Celebrate

The Stenograph team has a lot of great employees, and many have been with us for a long time. Their service and dedication to the company and the customers is something we like to celebrate. This month, Jim Kuta has reached a great milestone with Stenograph, 25 years! We asked Jim to share his thoughts about his time with Stenograph.

A Brief Note on My First 25 Years at Stenograph

Who remembers using Premier Power with MS-DOS? If that sentence fills you with nostalgia, you may be a Court Reporter I helped with installing Quarterdeck Expanded Memory Manager 25 years ago. Wow! And if there is anyone who remembers Premier Power because they are still using it, yikes!

It is hard to believe how quickly 25 years goes by and how many things change in that time. But the last 25 years have taught me that changes come with opportunities. For example, in the past 25 years I have successfully offset the changes to my hair line by successfully taking advantage of every opportunity to gain weight. How does that old saying go? When god closes a refrigerator door, he opens a pantry? Something like that.

But on a more serious note, as I look back on my first 25 years at Stenograph, I am amazed in equal measure to see what has changed and what has not. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to change and grow over the years. I started with Stenograph at the age of – let’s say 10 – as a Technical Support Representative. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work in various positions in Technical Support, Marketing, and most recently Development. It has been quite a ride so far.

Stenograph is a company blessed with amazingly talented individuals. Many of whom have been with Stenograph for more than 25 years. To me that says something important. Not just about Stenograph and the quality of the products we work to create. It says that Stenograph is part of an industry that we are proud to serve and devote so much of our lives supporting.

Many things do indeed change in 25 years, but I am looking forward to the next 25 years of change and growth and continuing to serve this wonderful industry. I am truly thankful.

James Kuta
