Stenograph Employee Game Night

Stenograph employees are dedicated to supporting and empowering our customers, and we work hard to achieve that goal. Sometimes, though, it really is all just fun and games: like at Stenograph Employee Game Night.

Up to twice a month, Stenograph employees gather after the workday ends to play assorted games. Usually there are board or card games, but sometimes we also host game night remotely and play online games. Everyone is encouraged to join in, and attendees are also welcome to just spectate and socialize if that’s more their speed. It’s a fun, light-hearted way to connect with peers and develop relationships across teams and departments. Plus, cooperative games are excellent exercises for team building.

This is a new tradition for Stenograph employees, and I have been honored to host these events and delighted by the interest and participation in them.  Our first official Game Night was February 13, 2024, and since then we have met several more times and played over a dozen unique games. We even achieved a milestone at a recent game night where – for the first time since the inception – we had multiple game sessions in progress simultaneously.

Participants bring their own games, which usually means one person will know how to play, and everyone else in attendance is learning for the first time together. We get to take turns teaching and expanding our game knowledge. With so many personalities and game types present, we do not often repeat games, but there are a few that have made it to the literal and figurative table more than once: Star Fluxx, Pandemic, Quiplash, and Charty Party.

Based on feedback from participants like Ryan B., Technical Support, who shared, “It’s been a good way to make new friends at work as well as getting to know people outside my own department,” we are excited to continue learning and playing more games in the future. We also hope to see even more employees join us in the fun.
