In recognition of World Hunger Day in May 2024, Stenograph made a significant contribution through its participation in Heico’s third annual food drive challenge. This initiative provided an opportunity for Stenograph employees to give back to the community and work together as a team. The employees brought in a wide range of donations, including cases of water, canned goods, flour, sugar, and other essentials. For those who were unable to go shopping, or working remotely, monetary donations were made.
Mary Russ from Customer Care did an outstanding job of shopping for various food items from local grocery stores. In addition, Stenograph employees volunteered for the second time at The People’s Resource Center in Westmont, Illinois on World Hunger Day, where they saw firsthand how their donations would benefit those in need. The People’s Resource Center allows families to select items they need, including meats, dairy products, vegetables, fruits, and sweets.
Established in 1975 by community members who wanted to help neighbors struggling with hunger. The People’s Resource Center is a non-profit organization that operates one of the largest food pantry programs in Chicago’s western suburbs, serving nearly 26,000 low-income DuPage County residents.
With Stenograph matching employees’ donations pound for pound, a total of 5,468 pounds of food was collected for The People’s Resource Center, making it a remarkable accomplishment. Stenograph reached a historic milestone by gathering over 5,000 pounds of food donations, a record high. To maintain this commendable effort and give back to the community, we plan to volunteer at The People’s Resource Center on a quarterly basis.
